The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), in collaboration with key partners, is organizing the first Africa Conference on Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization (SAM) as a follow-up to the first-ever Global Conference on Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization held in 2023 in Rome.

The event, intended to take place on 25 –28 November 2025, will bring together stakeholders to enhance regional collaboration, strengthen institutional arrangements for the successful delivery of mechanization, foster knowledge exchange, and promote sustainable agricultural practices that address the needs of African farmers. By facilitating the implementation of the Framework for Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization in Africa (F-SAMA) across the continent, the Conference aims to accelerate the region’s transition toward more efficient, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable agrifood systems.

However, the organizers regrettably, following guidance from the United Nations Department of Safety and Security, announces the postponement of the event which is being rescheduled to early next year. A new date will be announced in due course.

More information on the postponement of the event is available on https://www.fao.org/sustainable-agricultural-mechanization/resources/news/detail-events/en/c/1744550/
